Sunblock,skin care, sun, UVA

Having a fun day on a beach also means prolonge exposure from the harmful rays of the sun. Long and unprotected exposure to the sun can lead to sunburn, wrinkles, skin degeneration and even skin cancer. You need to take care of your skin and protect your skin from sun exposure everyday to prevent skin damage.

There are a lot of sunblock available in the market today. There are also different types of sunblock that have different sun protection factor (SPF), ingredients, resistance to water and whether or not they block UVA or UVB rays.

If you are going to swim or if you sweat a lot choose a waterproof sunblock. You should also choose sunblock that have "broad spectrum" meaning it will give you protection from both the sun's UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays can give you wrinkes and it age your skin, while UVB rays can burn your skin, both UVA and UVB cause skin cancer.

Choose a sunblock with an SPF of at least 30, the higher the SPF the longer you will be protected from UVB rays. Look for a sunblock that contains Octinoxate, Octisalate and Homosalate, these are chemicals that protects your skin from UVB rays.
